The story behind it

The beginning of a dream
Since I was 19 years old, I dreamed of building my own catamaran. I passionately collected pictures of catamarans that inspired me. In 2010, I shared my vision with Patrik Rohrer and immediately the spark was lit - he was excited about this adventure! Together we planned the construction of two catamarans. We sat together on many Sundays, drew small details on a pad and created the first sketches. I dived deep into the world of CAD programs and prepared everything for Jonas Panacek, our yacht designer. After a few adjustments, we were ready to put our project into action.

Construction begins
Patrik discovered an ideal building site in Matzingen, just 30 minutes from our home. In spring 2013, the time had finally come: we ordered the first materials and started building the first two floating elements. We watched with great joy as the shells of the floats took shape. It was an indescribable feeling to enter the rooms for the bunks for the first time! But then came the challenge: the hulls had to be covered with fiberglass mats. We organized help from friends and worked in teams. Despite the hard work, we also had a lot of fun. But the subsequent filling and sanding work was too much for us - we had underestimated the time! We battled through these never-ending tasks for weeks until we were finally able to prime the floats and pull them out of the hall with a truck trailer and a tractor. But now we were faced with the next challenge: we had to build a second float! The enthusiasm of the first project was gone and the work felt like a tedious routine. But after countless hours of hard work, these floats were finally finished too.

Construction and expansion
Now it was time to construct the middle section - a middle element, two floor elements, three connecting elements and five roof elements. Thanks to Diego Narr, who drew the entire catamaran in 3D, we were able to have some parts milled, which helped us enormously. At the same time, we started removing the floats, installing tanks, electricity and sanitary facilities. There seemed to be no end to it, but my father and Patrik's parents were always there to help us.

Move to Nordenham
By a lucky coincidence, we received support from someone who had read a newspaper report about our catamaran construction. He helped us organize the transport and find a suitable hall on the North Sea. In February 2022, we transported everything from Switzerland to northern Germany.

The final steps before completion
It took us a whole year to completely assemble all the elements, build the mast and install the technology. Finally, we had to paint the boat. On February 7, 2023, the time had come: the launch! And just twelve days later, we celebrated the christening. The two catamarans had been moored in Bremerhaven until the beginning of May, where we completed the final touches.

The maiden voyage
In April, the time had finally come: my maiden voyage to Helgoland and Sylt began! It was simply overwhelming! I'll never forget that moment - setting sail for the first time and feeling the pressure in the sails was an incredibly wonderful feeling. The catamaran glided smoothly over the water and I was just happy. During this trip, we tested all the systems and discovered some small weak points. I then spent two more weeks in Bremerhaven making adjustments.

The first big trip
On May 5, the time had finally come: I set sail with TAC TAC! The first big trip was on the cards and our destination was Ibiza. Our route took us from Bremerhaven past the North Sea islands, through the English Channel, across the infamous Bay of Biscay and along the Spanish and Portuguese coasts until we finally sailed through Gibraltar to Ibiza. In mid-June, we invited a group of friends to join us on an unforgettable tour around the island. It was the first time we had entertained guests on board and I couldn't wait to experience the atmosphere with so many people. The anticipation was huge!

Unforgettable experiences on board
I can't wait to offer you an unforgettable vacation on a catamaran! Imagine gliding gently over the sparkling water, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. The sun's rays sparkle on the waves as we swim in hidden bays and enjoy the beauty of nature. We will experience dreamlike sunsets that bathe the sky in a sea of color and maybe we will even see dolphins jumping happily around our boat. Let's explore the fascinating coasts together, feel the fresh sea breeze and collect unforgettable memories. I look forward to sharing these wonderful experiences with you!

About me
Hello, I'm Martin Hafner - I grew up on Lake Constance, where I discovered my passion for the water and the adventures it offers at an early age. At the age of 19, I already had the dream of one day building my own boat. Inspired by the fascinating designs of various catamarans, I began to collect pictures and ideas. Years later, when I was 30, I told a friend about this long-cherished dream - his enthusiasm was infectious, and so we decided to make the project a reality together. Together we planned the Tac Tac and BamBam catamarans and started building them in 2013. Since May 2023, I have been living my dream and have been on a long voyage with Tac Tac - every stage a new, unforgettable adventure. From the rugged beauty of the North Sea to the English Channel and the imposing Bay of Biscay to the idyllic coasts of Spain and Portugal - every sailing area has inspired me anew. Gibraltar, the enchanting Balearic Islands and the Côte d'Azur were particularly unforgettable. I sailed off Corsica for the first time in 2023 and was immediately enchanted by the wild beauty of the island. Other highlights of my trip were Sardinia, the Amalfi Coast, the Aeolian Islands and Sicily, before I finally reached the Canary Islands. In winter, I invite you to explore the fascinating waters around Lanzarote, La Gomera and Fuerteventura. In summer, I spend my time in the picturesque region of Calvi in Corsica. At my side is my partner Delphine Gury, who not only supports me with her expertise and organizational skills, but also provides our guests with unique insider tips on Corsica for an unforgettable experience. Her in-depth knowledge of the region and her attention to detail make every trip a special highlight. Whether in Corsica in summer or around the Canary Islands in winter, I look forward to offering you unforgettable sailing adventures. Let's discover the beauty of the sea together!
